  • Rest:- A body is said to be in a state of rest when its position does not change with respect to a reference point.
  • Motion:- A body is said to be in a state of motion when its position change continuously with reference to a point.

There are different types motion depending upon the type of path :-

  1. Linear motion:- This motion travels along a straight path
  2. Oscillatory motion:-This motion travels To and fro path with respect to origin
  3. Circular motion:- This motion travels in a circular path
  • Scalar quantity:- It is the physical quantity having its own magnitude but no direction. Ex- Distance, speed.
  • Vector quantity:- It is the physical quantity having its own both magnitude and direction. Ex- Displacement, Velocity.
